I have been heard saying “that newspapering is an expensive hobby” and that couldn’t be farther from the truth. While Liberty Monthly continues to grow and more people pick it up, it’s still far from the black and seems to sink deeper and deeper in the red each month. As a whole it’s just plain expensive to run. Printing eats up most if not all revenue each month and I won’t even get into the time spent and gas consumed during delivery.
While I enjoy what I do and still believe that LM makes a positive contribution to the community it’s the advertiser’s that should get all the credit for supporting a local independent publication. Liberty Monthly focuses on you, on our community and what makes it special and it’s all done on a shoe string budget. Without these extraordinary local businesses LM would have failed long ago – make sure you tell them thanks and that you think it’s great to support a local publication who supports them.
